Convair 640

The Convair 640 is a turboprop version of the highly successful Convair 340/440 series of passenger and freighter aircraft. Possessing all the proven attributes of its predecessor, the Convair 640 offers turbine reliability, improved fuel availability, and improved aircraft performance. The aircraft were equipped with Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines with four-blade propellers, in place of piston engines with three-blade propellers. The conversions were performed by Convair.
The Convair 580 & Convair 640 were flown primarily by the Charter Division of Time Air during their tenure with the airline.
